Day Homestay & National Parks

Kimberley Dreams will collect you for an 10 day private charter
through out the Kimberley region. This program will be conducted
in air conditioned, forward-face seating, 4WD Landcruiser GXL's or similar, is entirely flexible to allow you to attain maximum enjoyment.
Day 1 (LD)
At 07.00 this morning you will be picked up from your accommodation OR cruiseship. (Pre
tour accommodation can be arranged if required). Travel the Great
Northern Highway to Fitzroy Crossing and Geikie Gorge.
Join the Geikie Gorge Cruise, local guides will provide information
on the region. Geikie Gorge National Park is situated in
the Geikie Range, the gorge was formed by the Fitzroy
River cutting through the Devonian "Great Barrier Reef"'.
The gorge is approximately 14km long with walls that rise up to
about 30 metres high.
Dinner will be served at the Fitzroy River Lodge.

Day 2 (BLD)
After breakfast travel to Tunnel Creek, wade through the
icy underground stream to explore the intricate formations of this
ancient limestone cave.
Travel to Windjana Gorge National Park situated in the Napier
Range. The region is well known as the hide-out of the famous Pigeon. Windjana National Park is a place known for its abundant
wildlife as well as freshwater crocodiles. Explore the many fossilised
reef walls which tower 90m above the river bed and date back over
350 million years. Continue to Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge.
Dinner tonight will be served by your hosts, Taffy and Annabelle Abbotts.

Day 3 (BLD)
Depart Mt Hart for Silent Grove / Bell Gorge. Bell Gorge is an easy to moderate 30 - 40 minute hike.
After lunch, travel to Mornington Wilderness Camp. Mornington Wilderness Camp is owned and operated by the Australian Wildlife
Conservancy. A naturalist's paradise, Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary covers 312,000 hectares of the Central Kimberley. It protects a
range of ecosystems including tropical savanna and open woodlands, which are home to a diversity of birds, mammals and reptiles.
Activities include nature walks and bird-watching. Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary is home to approximately 180 bird species
including species under threat, the
purple-crowned fairy wren and Gouldian finch.
Canoeing and swimming the spectacular Diamond Gorge.

Day 4 (BLD)
Enter the King Leopold Range and Ancient Escarpment
of the Kimberley. Today we explore the gorges and waterholes of Mornington Wilderness Camp.

Day 5 (BLD)
After breakfast we depart Mornington and head for the Gibb River Road (600km of scenic dirt). Swim
in pools of refreshing cool water and learn the history of the region.
Visit Glavins Gorge, a small horseshoe-shaped gorge, with Wandjana Art. Swim the pristine
water hole of Manning,
view Aboriginal Art, see wildlife and the magnificent
Boab tree that dominates the landscape.

Day 6 (BLD)
Depart Mt Elizabeth for El Questro Station via Ellenbrae Station, cross huge river systems.
Overnight: Emma Gorge ( tented cabin accommodation )

Day 7 (BLD)
Early this morning we walk to
the pristine plunge pool that is "Emma Gorge" - moderate to difficult, 40 - 50 minutes.
A visit to Zebedee Springs will allow you to relax in the thermal pools surrounded by ancient palms. Join the Chamberlain Gorge Cruise this
afternoon.

Day 8 (BLD)
Depart for Kununurra for the Bungle Bungle, a massif of beehive domes, striped in black lichen and orange silica. Watch the
sunset among the beehive domes.
Dinner tonight will be served in camp.
Overnight: Permanent Camp, Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle) ( no ensuite available )

Day 9 (BLD)
Spend today exploring Mini Palms, Echidna Chasm and the western face of the Bungles.
Optional
scenic helicopter flights are available today. Cost approximately AUD $210.00 per person. Watch the sunset among the beehive domes.

Day 10 (BL)
Depart the Bungles for Kununurra. Fly from Kununurra to Darwin ( this flight is included, as the last day is basically an 8 hour drive
unless you want to add an additional day and stay in Katherine ). Upon arrival into Darwin, meet, greet and transfer to
your accommodation
Overnight: Accommodation in Darwin

Day 11 (B)
Breakfast will be served in the restaurant this morning. Transfer
to Darwin airport for your onward flight. |
