Darwin Tours

Darwin is the largest city in Northern Australia and is closer to our Asian neighbours than it is to Melbourne or Sydney. Darwin is surrounded by water, including the Timor Sea and Beagle Gulf, as well as many large tidal rivers and estuaries.

Nationalities from 47 countries make Darwin a unique, multi-cultural city. During the “Dry Season”, Darwin comes alive with cultural festivals, sporting and racing events, theatre and the Mindil Beach Markets. The idyllic weather makes for great outdoor living and entertainment.

Darwin’s location makes it a perfect place to base yourself for visits to Katherine, Kakadu and the Kimberley region.

Kimberley Dreams four wheel drive safaris will meet you in Darwin or Broome to commence your private charter. Pre and post tour accommodation can be arranged if required.

Our well equipped four wheel drive vehicles are used to handle the rugged conditions found in the Kimberley. Our safaris comprise camping, accommodated or a mixture of both. If camping, we provide quality camping gear (tents, swags, sleeping bags, linen and pillows).

If you choose to be accommodated, the best available basic accommodation will be provided – usually at homesteads/stations. All meals will be provided while touring, please advise us of any special dietary requirements. Meals are cooked over the camp fire or on the BBQ.

While touring you will experience as much activity as you wish – all itineraries are flexible and can be tailored to suit your particular needs.

One of the many highlights of the Kimberley is travelling the Gibb River Road, which is six hundred kilometres of scenic dirt road, escarpment, gorges and waterholes.

Visit El Questro Station, Jacks Waterhole, Manning Gorge, Bell Gorge, Barnett River Gorge, Mitchell Falls, Kununurra and Bungle Bungles National Park (Purnululu National Park).

Our guides have an exceptional knowledge of Aboriginal culture and rock art sites, bird watching, geology, anthropology and archaeology.

The guides will demonstrate an appreciation for the way the Aborigines live with the land. Their art, artifacts, bush tucker, bush medicines, bush technology and survival techniques will all be shared with you on your Kimberley Dreams 4WD Safari.
